Norton 220/1000 Waterstone
Code: 38-380
Price: $45.00
In Stock
Quantity in Basket: none
This combination waterstone offers 220 grit on one side and 1000 grit on the other. The 220 grit cuts aggressively and is perfect for flattening the backs of new tools or for removing large nicks. The 1000 grit is where you start when resharpening a tool with a dull edge. Once you are done with the 1000 grit, a few strokes on a finer stone will have you back to work. This stone can be used in place of a course/fine diamond stone.

Large 8" x 3" x 1" size is convenient for wide plane irons. Shipped in a stackable plastic case with rubber feet that serves as a mini sharpening station.

Norton 4000/8000 Waterstone
Code: 38-390
Price: $89.00
Sold Out
Quantity in Basket: none
This combination waterstone offers 4000 grit on one side and 8000 grit on the other. The 4000 grit is used to polish out scratches left by Norton's 1000 grit waterstone or a diamond stone. Use the 8000 grit to put a mirror edge shine and microbevel on the toughest tool steels.

The sharpness of most tools can be maintained with this 4000/8000 grit stone. If an edge becomes very dull it may require starting with the 1000 grit or a diamond stone. A nicked edge may require 220 grit or a course diamond stone.

Large 8" x 3" x 1" size is convenient for wide plane irons. Shipped in a stackable plastic case with rubber feet that serves as a mini sharpening station.

Norton 1000/4000 Waterstone
Code: 38-400
Price: $62.00
In Stock
Quantity in Basket: none
A combination waterstone is an economical answer to sharpening chisels and blades. With 1000 grit on one side and 4000 grit on the other, this Norton waterstone is a self contained sharpening system. It combines the two most useful grits. If you have a course diamond stone for restoring an edge then this stone may be all you need. The Norton Abrasives line of waterstones have been getting very favorable reviews. The stones are harder than Japanese waterstones so they will wear more slowly, and should require less frequent flattening than their Japanese equivalents.

Large 8" x 3" x 1" size is convenient for wide plane irons. Shipped in a stackable plastic case with rubber feet that serves as a mini sharpening station.

For comparison, a 1000 grit Norton waterstone is equivalent to about 14 micron diamond paste, a 4000 grit is equivalent to about 6 micron and an 8000 grit is equivalent to about 3 micron.

Code: 38-420
Price: $98.00

Quantity in Basket: none
This Norton 8000 grit finishing stone quickly puts a long lasting mirror edge on chisels and blades. Switch to the 8000 grit stone to remove the wire edge and to add a microbevel and mirror edge.

Large 8" x 3" x 1" size is convenient for wide plane irons. Shipped in a stackable plastic case with rubber feet that serves as a mini sharpening station.
