Excellent chisels - great value
These are outstanding chisels. Flattening/polishing the backs went quickly because the blades are so carefully forged and ground. The high quality O1 steel takes a razor edge that holds up well and is easy to sharpen. The handles are just the right shape for paring and sturdy enough for use with a mallet (as long as you don't slam them as though they were a mortising chisel). I really appreciate that these hand forged and hand ground premium chisels sell for about $30 each. I have used several other premium chisels that cost much more and I find that the Ashley Iles chisels are as good or better.

Nice set, just a couple issues.
Chisels arrived quickly and well packaged. Tips were dipped in wax and quite sharp out of the box. Backs, edges and bevels are all consistent, smooth and shiny. Just a couple issues. One handle has a small crack, brass ferrules are unpolished and the wood joint at those points is not smooth. Some small tear out on a couple handles as well. Overall satisfied with purchase and I expect with minimal tweaking these tools will receive plenty of bench time.
