Description

If you prefer to round over your tenons rather than square your mortises, then this 8" medium-fine rasp with a safe edge is for you. It's hand-cut by journeymen rasp makers in Austria and is far superior to typical machine-made rasps.

Most rasps are machine made with teeth in rows, one behind the other, which results in the rasp cutting troughs instead of a smooth surface. Hand made rasps vary the teeth position so that each row of teeth cuts a slightly different path leaving a smoother surface. The safe (non-cutting) edge prevents the tenon shoulders from being cut.
