Great tool
I just received this from Chipsfly. It is a great tool. I used this in conjunction with a couple other tools I just received from them.
My table saw fence and band saw fence are now within 1/128 of perfectly straight. I can live with that. My table saw blade runs true to the miter gauge slot and fence.
Love it.
The only thing I didn't care for is when I flipped the display. When on the regular left hand mode, the unit lays totally flat on the saw table top. I could read the blade right above the saw plate. The unit sits about 3/4 inch higher when reversed. This is due to the screw can't be reversed when reversing the display. It isn't an issue when using the unit upright, but can be an issue when laying it on the sides.
Overall, would definitely recommend.

This gauge is plastic and does not hold its reading as you move it on you tool you are setting. The reading bounces around if just touch the base, and I found it difficult to get an accurate comparison reading when setting planner blades and such. The cheap plastic body gives too much to make this gauge useable and have consist readings. I purchased the dial setup gauge, all metal, instead and it works great. Metal body and gauge good, plastic body and gauge bad. Don't waste your money on this gauge.

I know I don’t use these for how they were originally intended, but I get these for my pressure vessel and piping inspectors. With the magnets on the bottom, thy are the PERFECT gage for checking undercut in welds, annd with the gap between the base and the spindle of the gage, the are GREAT for checking alignment of pipe sections for welding. Alignment of heads to shells and reinforcement of the welds. Every customer, outside inspector or consultant that sees how we use them wants one. I hope you never stop making these!!!
