A striking knife is an excellent marking tool for cabinetmakers. Knife lines aren't subject to smudging, don't tear out across grain, and create a shoulder for chisels or saws to register against. The flat back and broad face of this striking knife runs true along a straightedge, and the 55° spear tip provides control in confined areas. The double bevel lets the tool be used with either hand or to mark in either direction.
An attractive wood handle offers a relaxed pencil grip and the side flats help with orientation as well as to prevent the tool from rolling off the bench. The blade is high-speed tool steel, which holds its edge well.
An indispensable shop tool. Just less than 7" long.
