Use the 1/32nd option to measure all the fasteners in your shop, including screws, bolts, nuts, washers, sockets, Allen wrenches, and more. Switch to 1/128th when, for example, planing wood to a thickness or matching a tenon to a mating mortise. Decimal inch or millimeters is called for when precision within a few thousands of an inch is crucial such as when setting or checking machine setups. The press of a button changes the readout between thousandths of an inch, fractions of an inch and millimeters.
