This fractional dial caliper is made of stainless steel and comes in a plastic storage case. It features a 1-1/2-inch dial that is easy to read when taking outside, inside, depth, and step measurements. The dial face or bezel can be rotated to set zero anywhere on the scale and has a bezel clamp to lock the dial in place for making deviation measurements. The range per revolution is 1-inch, with an accuracy of +/- 0.001-inch, graduated in 0.010-inch on the inner ring, and 1/64-inch on the outer ring. It also has the fraction and decimal equivalents on the shaft.

It features a knurled thumb roller, positive lock, and precision ground jaws. The action is silky smooth; it is very well machined and will not disappoint. The needle always goes back to zero. It requires no batteries, and its dial is straightforward to read. It looks and feels like instruments costing much more, and it is just as accurate.

"Initially, I am very impressed with this I-Gaging fractional caliper. It seems accurate, and the reading on the dial matches the reading along the scale for all 6 inches. I find the other calipers I own are inconsistent, both the digital and analog versions. When I return to zero, it often does not come out to zero. The goalposts moved. This thing gives me a good level playing field. It feels good and sturdy in my hands and adds to my confidence when I take a measurement. Plus, the price is right."

Easy and Convenient

I have been using these for over a year and cannot express the joy at not having to install batteries in digital calipers every other time I pick them up to use. Yes I still have an expensive set of decimal only digitals for machine work but for everyday usage, especially woodworking, these are accurate, and visually easier to quickly determine measurements as analog scales are better suited for comparative readings. Thanks for marketing these.

Handiest Caliper Ever

This is my second time buying this caliper. My first one is deceased following a catastrophic table leg topple on my workbench. Smashed the glass into the dial and ended it's existence. I can't go on without this caliper.

Great quality

I use these for woodworking, and like others got this so I don't have to worry about batteries in my digital calipers. I was worried my eyes would have a hard time seeing the details, but this is super easy to use and read. I have many scales that show measurements at 1/64" increments, but they almost mock me because my eyes really can't make out detail finer than 1/16". Using these calipers is amazing! I can clearly see the 1/64" increments and could really tweak things to 1/128" if necessary. I've never seen anything like this with imperial measurements geared towards a woodworker like myself so I couldn't be happier. I may get the 12" version next if I want to start using it beyond 6"

Excellent value

For the money you really would be hard pressed to beat these iGaging calipers. The fit and finish is almost as good as any of my high-end calipers. Accuracy is easily on par with them. I'm really amazed at this.

It's everything I need in a caliper.

I have a few digital calipers, but find this analog dial more intuitive than the digital displays. This is the one I reach for every time. As far as I can tell (as an amateur woodworker), it is perfectly accurate.
