This new digital readout (DRO) from iGaging is for the professional and industrial model SawStop table saw. The DRO displays the exact distance of the fence from the blade, and unlike a fixed rule, you can calibrate the DRO for different blade and dado thicknesses.
Installation begins by replacing the existing cursor with a new DRO unit using the same mounting holes; no drilling or modification needed. A self-stick .2 mm thin, flexible beam is applied on top of the existing rule then trimmed to length. A precut board can help in placing the new beam evenly with the current rule.
Calibration starts with ripping a board then measuring it with a digital caliper. Two pushbuttons set the calibration to the board thickness. After calibration, a new adhesive-backed rule is applied over the flexible beam, matching with the DRO calibration. There is also an alternative calibration method using a 2” preset.
The new rule reads in both inches and millimeters. With the applied rule, you can quickly locate the SawStop fence anywhere on the rule than use the DRO to precisely set the fence. An internal 2032 watch type battery provides power to the unit, but you can also use an external rechargeable battery pack mounted on the fence.
The large numerical display on the DRO is easy to read and is switchable between decimal, fractional, or millimeters. Calibration of the DRO is only required when you replace the blade or the battery.
